Refund Policy

Barbarian Outdoor (https://barbarianoutdoor.com/) is committed to providing a fair and transparent refund process for our fishing trip booking platform in Hong Kong. This Refund Policy explains when and how refunds are issued for deposits paid through our platform. Please review this policy before making a booking.

1. Scope of Refunds

Barbarian Outdoor facilitates bookings between customers and fishing charter operators (“Captains”). Customers pay a deposit via our platform to confirm a booking, with the remaining balance paid in cash directly to the Captain on the trip date. This Refund Policy applies only to deposits paid through the platform. Cash payments made to Captains are not covered by this policy.

2. Customer-Initiated Cancellations

  • Cancellations by customers are governed by the individual Captain’s cancellation policy, which will be clearly displayed during the booking process. Policies may vary, including options for no refunds or refunds under specific conditions. Customers are encouraged to review the Captain’s policy before confirming their booking.

  • To cancel, contact our support team via email at support@barbarianoutdoor.com or WhatsApp at +852 9703 7260. Cancellations are effective only upon confirmation by Barbarian Outdoor.

3. Captain-Initiated Cancellations

You will receive a full refund of your deposit if a Captain cancels your booking for any of the following reasons:

  • Unsafe weather conditions preventing the trip.

  • Mechanical issues with the boat.

  • Failure to meet the minimum guest number for a shared trip. If a Captain cancels for other reasons, you will receive a full refund, and the Captain may receive a negative review, lowered platform ranking, or a warning, as per our Terms and Conditions.

4. Seasickness

No refunds will be issued if a customer’s trip experience is affected by seasickness. Customers who are prone to seasickness are responsible for bringing their own medication, as neither Barbarian Outdoor nor its Captains provide seasickness remedies.

5. Exceptional Circumstances

Refunds for cancellations may be considered in exceptional cases, such as emergencies, government restrictions, or natural disasters. These are evaluated on a case-by-case basis. To request a refund for exceptional circumstances, contact support@barbarianoutdoor.com or WhatsApp +852 9703 7260 with your booking details and reason.

6. Non-Refundable Scenarios

No refunds will be issued for:

  • Cancellations that do not meet the Captain’s cancellation policy, unless covered by Sections 3 or 5.

  • Cancellations due to ineligibility under the Captain’s policy (e.g., if infants or children are not permitted).

  • No-shows or late arrivals at the trip’s designated meeting point.

  • Dissatisfaction with the trip experience, as trips are provided by independent Captains.

  • Seasickness affecting the customer’s trip experience, as outlined in Section 4.

7. Refund Procedure

  • How to Request: Submit refund requests by emailing support@barbarianoutdoor.com or messaging via WhatsApp at +852 9703 7260, including your booking reference number and cancellation reason.

  • Processing Time: Approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method within 7–10 business days.

  • Non-Refundable Fees: Payment processor transaction fees are non-refundable, except in cases of Captain cancellations or exceptional circumstances.

8. Cash Payments

Barbarian Outdoor is not responsible for disputes or refunds related to cash payments made directly to Captains. We recommend obtaining a receipt for cash payments and resolving any issues directly with the Captain.

9. Policy Updates

We may revise this Refund Policy periodically. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Effective Date.” Continued use of our platform after changes indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
